# TeamFunctions

`TeamFunctions` labels the functional role carried by each service-team row returned from `clsTeamAssignmentCollection.Criteria.RetrieveSQL` (`pk72846_view_policy.team_assign_query`). The enum lets callers distinguish underwriting, loss-control, billing, collections, and quote-assignment responsibilities, and it supports role-specific logic such as identifying the loss-control consultant used in [BR-VP-007](../../business-rules.md#br-vp-007-loss-control-prefix-match).

## Purpose
- Classify each `clsTeamAssignment` row by business function after the team query materializes the service-team collection.
- Support downstream selection of role-specific contacts such as underwriters, billing representatives, and loss-control consultants.
- Provide the functional tag used when policy-security logic looks for the assigned loss-control consultant in [BR-VP-007](../../business-rules.md#br-vp-007-loss-control-prefix-match).*

## Behavioral notes
- `clsTeamAssignmentCollection` materializes a `TeamFunctions` value for each team-member row returned by SQL-031.
- Consumers can use this enum to isolate the loss-control consultant row whose username prefix participates in [BR-VP-007](../../business-rules.md#br-vp-007-loss-control-prefix-match).
- The enum captures business responsibility, while email-address derivation is handled separately on the team-member object under [BR-VP-022](../../business-rules.md#br-vp-022-team-member-email-address-derivation).

## Constraints and usage notes
- Prefer this enum over string comparisons when selecting specific team roles from `TeamAssignmentCollection`.
- Some abbreviated names reflect source-era business terminology; preserve them for compatibility even when newer prose uses longer role descriptions.*
